England down India by 319 runs

England down India by 319 runs Nottingham: English bowlers ran circles around a hapless Indian batting line-up, eventually bowling the visitors out on 158 on Day 4 of the second Test, on Monday. Andrew Strauss’ side have now taken a 2-0 lead in the 4-match series.

It was Tim Bresnan who powered the hosts early on, scored 90 and returned to claim his first five-wicket haul in Tests. That England managed to score 544 runs before folding up meant a 478-run target for MS Dhoni and his side. A semblance of resistance was expected but it never came as apart from a 56 from Sachin Tendulkar, no other batsman could hold his ground.

Apart from Bresnan, it was James Anderson who added three wickets to his kitty from the innings, followed by two for Stuart Broad who was declared man-of-the-match.
