SLPL local players complete list

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) today announced the players drafted for the inaugural Sri Lanka Premier League that will begin on the 11 of August. The local players were picked by the seven franchises via a draft system in Colombo on today evening.Inaugural SLPL Local Player Draft

Mahela Jayawardena of Wayamba was first to pick Dinesh Chandimal for his Wayamba Team which was the first selection of the local player draft.also Kumar Sangakkara was first to pick Thisara Perera for his team Kandurata.

The first of under 21 player picked was Akila Dhananjaya by Wayamba Team. Other Under 21 players included were Kithruwan Vithanage (Kandurata), Gayan Maneeshan (Negenahira), Bhanuka Rajapakse (Uva), Chathura Peiris (Uthura), Ramith Rambukwella (Ruhuna), Dhanushka Gunathilake (Basnahira)

    As a sri Lankan I’m very happy about SLPL, But as a Sinhalese
    I’m very sad about the selection of players because other than murali there is no other Tamil
    players in this league, We have to go forward as a country, in this small
    country there are so many young talented players some are Singhalese, Tamils,
    Muslims And Burger we have to take forward all this young talent as a one
    country…..

      Absolutely agree.. i bet there are major talents in the Minorities of Sri Lanka !!
      Tamils and Muslims !! But where are they, ???????
      I bet you can atleast find someone much better than Chamara Kapugedara or a Isuru Udana LOL !!
      We can only hope, it improves over the coming years with the inclusion of more Minority players.
